Vinyl Wednesday: EARTH WIND & FIRE: THAT'S THE WAY OF THE WORLD
This week one of the records which should be in everyone's collection (or hopefully is) who likes dancing music. I choose "Shining star" because it's such a nice and happy song.
Some more info about the album on Wikipedia: " "That's the Way of the World" is the sixth studio album by Earth, Wind & Fire released on Columbia Records. It was also the soundtrack for a 1975 motion picture of the same name which featured several of the band members in cameo roles. Included on the album was the single "Shining Star", which was a #1 U.S. pop and R&B hit." "Reasons" is of course also one of their top songs of their career. Unneccessary to say how influential this band was and is for everyone who makes or plays music peope are dancing to... the band was crossing over from jazz to fusion and disco. Dance on!!
Just in time for International Women's Day, here's the first of a couple videos of Fred Wesley & The New JB's featuring Martha High.Think (About It) made famous by the recording of Lyn Collins, Martha always sang it with James Brown and Maceo Parker.Thank you Fred for having me on this great gig in Zurich, Switzerland! It was a pleasure.. and yeah you are right, for the connaisseurs of funk guitar, there's the one and only Bruno Speight! In the following videos the light is better and you'll see more of him, promised... stay tuned! - This week one of the records which should be in everyone's collection (or hopefully is) who likes dancing music.I choose Shining star because it's such a nice and happy song. Some more info about the album on Wikipedia: That's the Way of the World is the sixth studio album by Earth, Wind & Fire released on Columbia Records.
