Radio 1 interview "Open Kaart"

Just in time for International Women's Day, here's the first of a couple videos of Fred Wesley & The New JB's featuring Martha High.Think (About It) made famous by the recording of Lyn Collins, Martha always sang it with James Brown and Maceo Parker.Thank you Fred for having me on this great gig in Zurich, Switzerland! It was a pleasure.. and yeah you are right, for the connaisseurs of funk guitar, there's the one and only Bruno Speight! In the following videos the light is better and you'll see more of him, promised... stay tuned! - Yesterday night I was guest at Dutch radio 1, the public radio at a show called Nooit meer slapen (Never sleep again).I like that title because I also think it is a pity that we humans have to sleep so much :-) It's a neccessity..I arrived late at night, when most people sleep and only certain people are still awake. The magic of the night. They bid me welcome with a cup of coffee and a cookie. The friendly assistent Maike and I had to go though the security jungle, a whole system due to the crazy guy who walked into the tv studio a year ago and threatened people with a gun so it felt bit like being in a bank or prison.. but once I arrived at the right floor, the friendly host Pieter van der Wielen did the interview with me and also turned out to be quite a jazz and funk fan. They are having this item called Open Kaart (open cards) where you get to draw cards from a box. They contain questions of all kind and you have to answer honestly. It was fun to do!
