May Festival Month: Amersfoort Jazz

Just in time for International Women's Day, here's the first of a couple videos of Fred Wesley & The New JB's featuring Martha High.Think (About It) made famous by the recording of Lyn Collins, Martha always sang it with James Brown and Maceo Parker.Thank you Fred for having me on this great gig in Zurich, Switzerland! It was a pleasure.. and yeah you are right, for the connaisseurs of funk guitar, there's the one and only Bruno Speight! In the following videos the light is better and you'll see more of him, promised... stay tuned! - Usually, the festival season in the Netherlands is kickstarted with King's Day. So, one of the nice festivals with jazz and funky live music is Rabobank Amersfoort Jazz, a free open air festival. This year they will do an online edition in November.Last year we played there with Venus Tunes Live and the whole market square was dancing. In 2017 I played there with DJ Maestro and Rob van de Wouw (trumpet).Let's hope we all can perform soon again. It's the first summer since I left high school that I am not performing, it feels quite weird.I am so glad what we shot and mounted all these videos for months to come and keep you entertained.
