Gig pics: Nieuwegein architecture

Just in time for International Women's Day, here's the first of a couple videos of Fred Wesley & The New JB's featuring Martha High.Think (About It) made famous by the recording of Lyn Collins, Martha always sang it with James Brown and Maceo Parker.Thank you Fred for having me on this great gig in Zurich, Switzerland! It was a pleasure.. and yeah you are right, for the connaisseurs of funk guitar, there's the one and only Bruno Speight! In the following videos the light is better and you'll see more of him, promised... stay tuned! - Last thursday we played at De Kom in Nieuwegein with The Soul Of Motown. It's a very beautiful theatre, designed by Frits van Dongen/Cie.Across the street there's the town hall, het stadshuis of Nieuwegein. It's designed by 3XN, the Copenhagen architects who also designed Muziekgebouw/Bimhuis Amsterdam and so many more. Check their website! I met Kim Herforth Nielsen many years ago during a gig with DJ Maestro in Germany at the impressive Mercedes Benz Museum (by Ben van Berkel/UN Studio). Kim invited us for some of his events in Copenhagen to perform at. Last year they just moved to thir new office. That's where I saw the architecture models of a couple of buildings throughout the years which have been build later on. He told us about his building in Nieuwegein, and indeed it's spectacular!
