Update summer 2023

So the first time we played the music from Royalty For Real wasn't in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, but in Bengaluru and Mumbai, all the way in India in 2023!Here you'll see me play Au Privave, Classy Cats and Royalty For Real, together with Timothy Banchet (piano), Marius Beets (bass) and Sven Rozier (drums).Au Privave is a well-known blues by Charlie Parker which I often like to start with, almost like a soundcheck tune. Although most of the time a soundcheck is done I found out it's a good idea to play a tune everybody of the band knows very well so we all can get used to the sound of the stage, the presence of the audience and it also gives the sound engineer the chance to adjust microphones last minute. During the soundcheck, the sound of the room is significantly different because of the lack of audience. All that flesh and clothes work a little bit like a totally empty room versus a room with furniture and carpets, if you know what I mean :-)Acoustics are so interesting and full of surprises.. During covid I got involved in several activities within my musical surroundings; I joined the member council of Kunstenbond and then, bit by bit, the boards of BiMpro, Concertzender and De Creatieve Coalitie. Also I followed several trainings for good governance and got myself a practical diploma in bookkeeping, yes, very sexy :-) Hopefully I can serve society with my practical experience as a musician, in the present and in the future. Lots of work to be done in music, culture, author's and neighbouring rights...Why am I doing this? I am convinced that when united we stand stronger. Musicians are individualists. This makes them strong in their art but weak in business. We have to work together for a durable eco system of artists and audiences.Also during covid, I wrote a lot of music to be finished in a later stadium. But I also finished some music and it will be released soon, probably in February/March 2024. Working on a release tour right now!There will be a sneak preview concert on 20-08-2023 during Amersfoort Jazz festival and I'll bring some cd's with me. So if you are curious come and get your copy! See link for tickets! I am super excited about this!Further, after covid, I had lots of gigs, especially private parties and events. So many festivities were postponed and finally took place! I also performed at a few cool festivals, and just recently my first tour in India and Thailand.
